Skill Levels
Parent/Tot: (6-36 months)
The goal is to familiarize the students with water, experiment with getting wet, floating, reaching, kicking and breathholding without fear.
Age levels for levels 1-3:
Levels 1-3 described below are offered separately for preschoolers (3-5 years) and School Age students (6+ years). This way, instructors can modify the way skills are introduced to be age-appropriate. For Swim Clinics 1-4, the kids are not separated by age, and the classes are held in the deeper, 25 meter lap pool.
Beginner Level 1:
In this entry level class, students learn to be comfortable in the water, get their face wet, hold their breath, and front and back float with assistance.
Beginner Level 2:
Students learn to float on their front and back without assistance. Kicking and gliding is refined. Rhythmic breathing is introduced.
Advanced Beginner Level 3:
Students learn to swim head lead prone as well as supine while flutter kicking efficiently, swim under water, glide in a stream-lined position, and are introduced to the lap pool.
Swim Clinic 1:
This is the first class taught in the deeper, 25 meter lap pool. Students further refine skills for front and back crawl. Sculling on the back, Elementary backstroke and treading water are introduced.
Swim Clinic 2:
Freestyle is the emphasis: stroke mechanics, endurance and efficiency are addressed.
Swim Clinic 3:
Students will focus on backstroke as well as dive starts and flip turns for freestyle and backstroke.
Swim Clinic 4:
Breaststroke and butterfly are taught. Starts and turns for these strokes are also included.
Bronze Swim Team:
The team meets Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 5:45-6:30pm. Swimmers must be between 6 and 18 years old and should have completed swim clinic 4. Tryouts Thursdays at 6:00 PM.

Adult Swim Clinic 3:
After completing Adult Swim Clinics 1 & 2, students who want to continue to work on endurance, speed, and efficiency as well as use swimming as a fitness program can sign up for Swim Clinic. Open water swim training, including drafting, wet suits, etc. is covered as well. (Goggles and fins required).
